6V6/6L6 x 2 • 3-way EQ
• Tube Reverb/Tremolo Tube Rectification 5AR4/5Y3/5U4 Holographic, harmonically Rich Cleans w/Excellent Power Tube Break-up when pushed.

Eight months of development and the wait was worth it. Take some of our favorite qualities from the MOD84 and mix it with some of our favorite aspects of the AST, with that venerable 6V6/6L6 3D holographic, ethereal voodoo... What do you get? Frankly, it's like no other Swart while being like EVERY Swart. It's the ANTARES and we are smitten with this beast.

It's more than an 18w AST on steroids, more than an AST with top mounted controls. It's the Swart Magic worked on twin, push-pull 6V6 with a bit bigger reverb, deeper bottom-end foundation, with a new custom output transformer borrowed from the MOD84 Lineage. It has our killer three-way EQ ala STR-Tremolo, our single-ended favorite. Toss in that Swart all time favorite, über sweet tube bias tremolo and you have the makings of an addiction.

And yes, it does have top mounted controls for easy access. And to top it off, it's all housed within an all new Pine cab with tilted back baffle.

Large Cab Option
1 6"T x 23"W x 9"D ~ @36-38lbs

Small Cab Option
17" W x 10" D X 16 3/4" H (w/feet) ~ @ 32-34lb

  • Most of the 6L6 family will work in this amp for some more clean headroom, though would avoid tubes like KT-66. 5881 & 7951a OK.
  • Cathode Bias - No need to BIAS with matched 6V6 or 6L6 family tube ubs
  • JJ and TAD 6V6 Recommended. EH and Tung-Sol  not at this time. JJ a bit cleaner. TAD a bit more vintage take. TAD Selected GZ34 a nice option in this amp. 5Y3 ok for more sag, compression.  GZ-34 is an indirectly heated option so offers a slow start up, one advantage.
  • IEC fuse located on far right where plug enters amp  chassis. 2A Slow Blow 20mm Fuse. if no power first check this fuse. Spare in compartment.

There is a second HT fuse that is .500ma Fast Blow that is 30mm. If amp lights up and no sound, could be this fuse. Either way, likely a power tube issue

IMPORTANT: When subbing any of the Octal tubes with center guide pin, please visually align guide with the slot in socket before insertion. The tolerance between socket and guide pin has become greater, allowing user to install the tube incorrectly, even though pin is intact. Please be aware of this and take care in inserting the tubes. An incorrectly inserted tube can take out a component if the fuse does not catch in time.
